Union City Church
14 Days of Prayer and Fasting
January 12th - 25th, 2026

Each year, we take two weeks in January to engage in a corporate fast to align our hearts and seek after the Lord together. This is a way that we begin each year in unity and with intention and focus, choosing to center our attention on the Lord’s will in our lives. If you would like to learn more about fasting, take a moment to watch this sermon

Types of fasts:

  • Sun up to sun down fast - means abstaining from all food from sunrise until sunset

  • Daniel’s fast - Based on Daniel's experience in the Bible, it involves abstaining from meats, sweets, and bread while still consuming whole, plant-based foods and water.

  • Liquid fast - A liquid fast is where you abstain from all food, but allow liquids such as smoothies, fresh juices, and pureed soups.

  • Complete fast - The complete fast is a water-only fast, abstaining from all food.
