Delaney put it this way, "Consistency compounds. The more you do something, it compounds upon itself."

2) Prayerful Reading
Scripture isn't merely intellectual; it's spiritual.
As Delaney said:
"We have to read our Bible prayerfully, because without prayer, reading the Bible is nothing more than an intellectual exercise... This is the living, breathing, active Word of God, and every time we open its pages, we need the power and the presence of God to illuminate and guide us as we go."
Inviting the Holy Spirit into your reading transforms how you understand and apply God’s Word.
3) Humility
Approaching Scripture with humility means allowing it to challenge and shape you, even when uncomfortable.
Delaney said:
"There will be times when you open up these pages where it's going to step on your toes. There will be times when it's going to convict you, challenge you bump up against your world view.”
But ultimately, when we approach these pages with humility and submit to what it says, we declare God Lord of our life and live our lives in submission to Him,

Ephesians 4:14 warns against those who don’t trust in scripture but instead listen to every new wave of doctrine and teaching:
"Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of people in their deceitful scheming."
